The pressure is on coach Ignacio Ambriz and Club America as they travel across town to take on local rivals Cruz Azul in another edition of the Clásico Joven.

The fact of the matter is this a must-win game for Ambriz and Las Aguilas. After their less-than-stellar performance in the Clásico Nacional, where they were thrashed 3-0 in their own stadium by arch-rivals Chivas, patience is running thin in Coapa. Now, Las Aguilas are presented with a genuine chance at some vindication when they take on los Cementeros at the Estadio Azul.

Cruz Azul isn’t having the best starts to the season. Tomas Boy’s men have just one win and a lowly six goals scored in this Apertura. During the international break, the Cementeros confirmed the signing of Mexican striker Erick “Cubo” Torres, and he should be at Tomas Boy’s disposal for Saturday’s game.

Like America, Cruz Azul will be thinking of this game as one they can’t lose. For both teams, this game can set the tempo for what promises to be a defining second half of the season.
