In a frantic game at the Estadio "Luis" Pirata Fuente, Club America came from two goals down to beat Veracruz 4-2 on Saturday. The match was previously postponed following heavy rain that took place across the state of Veracruz from Tropical Storm Earl.
It didn't take long for Veracruz to take the lead when Adrian Luna beat Moises Munoz following a headed pass from Gabriel Penalba.
Things then went from bad to worse for Las Aguilas when Erik Pimentel was sent off before Julio Furch doubled Veracruz's lead.
Almost immediately, however, all of Veracruz's hard-work was undone, and scorer Adrian Luna received his marching orders for a second yellow. Silvio Romero then took advantage of a Pedro Gallese mistake to pull Las Aguilas within one.
Five minutes into the second half, Silvio Romero grabbed his second of the night to equalize the score at two.
Veracruz's night only got worse when Fernando Menezes was sent off, leaving Veracruz down to nine men. As such, Club America made the advantage count as substitute Renato Ibarra completed the comeback for Ignacio Ambriz's side.
With the score at 3-2, Darwin Quintero sealed a memorable night for Club America by scoring his side's fourth as Las Aguilas earned their third win of the season.
