It’s only week 4 and much of the talk around Chivas has to do with a “crisis” inside the club. That is the nature of being one of the biggest teams in Mexico. You lose two or three games in a row, and all of a sudden, the team is engulfed in a catastrophe difficult to get out of. The truth is reports of Chivas’ demise are always greatly exaggerated, and back home at the Estadio Chivas, Matias Almeyda’s side has a genuine chance at righting the ship. On Saturday, the Rebaño Sagrado host Queretaro in their second home game of the season.

It shouldn’t be forgotten that in a space of just one week, Chivas had to play four games, including a meaningless friendly with Arsenal. Up until then, Chivas had narrowly been defeated by Pumas UNAM and taken home all three points versus Monterrey. Now, they face a Queretaro side that is unbeaten and sit second in the league table.

The long and short of it is that Chivas need a positive result against the Gallos Blancos. Given that, a win against a tough Queretaro side would go a long way to quieting down some of their doubters.
