It was a day to forget for AS Roma as the Italian side crashed out of the Champions League thanks to a 4-1 aggregate defeat to FC Porto on Tuesday. Miguel Layun and Jesus “Tecatito” Corona scored for the Portuguese side, while Hector Herrera went the distance for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
After a 1-1 stalemate in Portugal, Porto’s first strike came early in the first half when Felipe headed home the go-ahead goal.
Things quickly went from bad to worse for Roma when Daniele De Rossi and Emerson were sent off, leaving the Romans down to nine men.
With the stage perfectly set for FC Porto, Miguel Layun sealed the tie by taking advantage of a Wojciech Szczęsny mistake to finish behind the Polish goalkeeper.

Tecatito then added insult to wound by firing in a superb effort past Szczęsny to put the final score 4-1 in Porto’s favor.
