La Liga kicked off this weekend and another Chiva is heading to Europe. Let’s dive right into the roundup.

Salcedo Moves To Italy

Just hours before El Clasico Tapatio, Univision Deportes reported Carlos Salcedo was on his way to Fiorentina. The fee is reported to be $7million but it is a 1yr loan with a buy option. The move was made official this morning with a press conference.

PorTri

Porto added their 2nd league win in 2 games. Layun joined HH & Tecatito in the starting lineup. He started at LB and added to his big assist total at the club. Tecatito also had a good active game and HH wore the captain’s armband. Surprisingly, Diego Reyes made the bench but he will likely be sold before the window closes.

Chicharito

He had himself a nice season opener in the DFB Pokal. He chipped in with a goal and an assist before being subbed out. Bayer kick off their Bundesliga campaign next week.

Raul Jimenez

He started this game on the bench again but expect him to start real soon. He salvaged a point for the defending champions with this well taken PK. He hasn’t missed since he turned pro in official matches.

Guillermo Ochoa

On his competitive debut for Granada, Memo had a solid debut. He had a couple nice saves and Granada tied with a Jona-less Villarreal at 1-1.

Guardado & Moreno

PSV kept their title defense going by staying undefeated in the league with a comfortable 4-0 win. Guarded added to his assist total.

Notes

-Carlos Vela was on the bench for Real Sociedad and only played 11 minutes as Sociedad fell 3-0 to Madrid.

-Eintracht advanced in the DFB Pokal in PKs but Fabian did not see any time off the bench.

-Cubo Torres was in the 18 but did not see any minutes for Houston on Friday.

-Gio played all 90 minutes for the Galaxy’s 1-0 loss to NYCFC. He was mostly ineffective and failed to impact the game.
