On Sunday, Club America pay a visit to Puebla at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc. Ignacio Ambriz’s go into the match on the back of a 2-0 win over Venados, which meant Las Aguilas have clinched a place in the Copa MX quarterfinals. Of course, back in league play, much of the focus around this game will be on next week’s Clasico Nacional. Make no mistake about it, the last thing America want is to enter one of their biggest games of the season with a winless league run of two straight games. It all changes the narrative a bit, specially considering Chivas escaped the Clasico Tapatio with a draw.

Still, La Franja are unbeaten in their first two home games of the season, and there is the sense the team is finally clicking under new manager Ricardo Valiño. Their last game finished in a 3-2 defeat to Atlas, but La Franja have built a reputation on putting up a fight against the best of Liga MX teams.
