Angel Zaldivar scored twice as Chivas fought back to earn a 2-2 with rivals Atlas in another edition of the Clasico Tapatio.
The 22-year-old striker gave Chivas the lead in the 32nd minute with a brilliant strike before Flavio Santos sneaked a shot behind Rodolfo Cota to level the score going into the break.
Atlas’ revival then went into full effect early in the first half when Martin Barragan powered home a header from a Candido Ramirez corner.
But a sustained period of Chivas dominance culminated with a penalty being called in favor of the Rebaño Sagrado . Angel Zaldivar stepped up and hit his penalty past Oscar Ustari to put things at 2-2.
At the end, neither team could manage their way to a winner, and at the final whistle, both teams settled for the point.
Chivas next will play Club America at the Estadio Azteca in the Clasico Nacional, while Atlas will host Cruz Azul at the Estadio Jalisco.
