Santos Laguna vs. Chivas Guadalajara: Highlights

Chivas piled on more misery on Santos Laguna with a 1-0 win at the Estadio Corona on Sunday.

The only goal of the match came in the first half when Angel Zaldivar found space around the edge of the box to shoot unchallenged past Santos Laguna goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin.

A much-improved second half from the Guerreros will have given the hosts some hope, but in the 70th minute, Nestor Araujo was sent off for an American Football-like tackle on Carlos Cisneros.

With only seconds remaining in the match, Agustin Marchesin was sent off after conceding a penalty with a bad tackle on Angel Zaldivar. Marco Bueno stepped up and shot the penalty wide of the left post.

Despite that, the ref blew the final whistle, and Chivas earned their second win of the season.

Santos Laguna have now gone winless in their first five games of the season and will next take on Cruz Azul at the Estadio Azul. Meanwhile, Chivas will return back home to play host to their crosstown rivals Atlas in the Clasico Tapatio.
