Oribe Peralta starred as Club America earned a 3-1 win over Toluca at the Estadio Azteca on Saturday night. Peralta, who will be departing to Brazil to join up with the Mexico Under-23 national team, scored a hat-trick to guide Las Aguilas to a perfect start after only two weeks.
From the beginning, Ignacio Ambriz's side had control of the match and took the lead in the 15th minute through a Peralta penalty. Toluca, however, fired back before halftime with Carlos Esquivel forcing his way to a leveler.
But Las Aguilas picked up where they left off and Peralta grabbed his brace when he appeared unmarked from a Carlos Darwin Quintero corner kick.
Peralta then sealed the points with his third of the night when took advantage of a goalkeeping mistake to smash home the 3-1.
Las Aguilas will look to continue to stay perfect as they host Tigres in week 3, while Toluca will travel to Chiapas in search of their first win.
