Raul Jimenez played the last five minutes and scored a penalty as Benfica cruised their way to a 6-2 win over Maritimo to clinch the Taça da Liga title for the third consecutive year.
Days after thousands of Benfica fans crowded Lisbon to celebrate Benfica's league clinching win over Sporting Braga, Jimenez and co. lift their second title of the season.
Benfica took an early 3-0 lead before Maritimo pulled a goal back at the stroke of halftime through Joao Diogo.
Nico Gaitain, who was playing his last game for Benfica ahead of a rumored move away from the club, put the score beyond doubt in the 77th minute.
With the score at 5-2, a penalty was called in favor Benfica. Raul Jimenez stepped up and slotted home to seal another memorable night for Benfiquistas.
The goal was Raul's 12th since joining the Portuguese champions from Atletico Madrid over the summer, and his fifth title as a professional player.
