Club America fought hard, but Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo scored as Los Blancos claimed a 2-0 win to qualify to the final of the Club World Cup.

From the start, Zinedine Zidane’s team was on top, but Club America’s pressing created openings at the back, most notably long distance strikes from Renato Ibarra and William da Silva.

In the 26th minute, the Spanish side almost claimed the lead when Cristiano Ronaldo smashed a header against the woodwork.

Moments later, Ronaldo collected his own rebound from a free-kick and forced a superb save from Moises Munoz.

Las Aguilas may have been dreaming of going into the half scoreless, but Karim Benzema would not be denied in the 45th minute when he reached Toni Kroos’ pass to put the ball into the back of the net.

As good as Real Madrid looked in the second half, their second goal didn’t arrive until the final minute of the game when Cristiano Ronaldo latched on to a James Rodriguez pass to seal it.

Next, Real Madrid will take on Kashima Antlers in the final, while Las Aguilas will play in the third-place game against Atletico Nacional.
