Mexico has been drawn together with hosts Russia, Oceania winners New Zealand, and European champions Portugal at next year’s Confederations Cup.
Mexico are competing in their.seventh Confederations Cup, after competing for the first time in the 1995 edition. They previously won the tournament in 1999.
Juan Carlos Osorio's team will meet Portugal in their first match of Group A, which takes place in Kazan on Sunday, June 18.
New Zealand, who played El Tri in a recent friendly, looks like the most accessible team in the group for Mexico when they play at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi on Wednesday, June 21.
Hosts Russia will be El Tri's final opponent and they will play on Saturday, June 24 in Kazan.
Elsewhere, reigning World Cup champions Germany headline Group B, where they will take on Australia, Chile, and the future Africa Cup of Nations champions.
