A Gabriel Hauche goal was the difference maker in what was otherwise a duel overshadowed by sensational goalkeeping, as Tijuana handed Toluca their first defeat at home this season, climbing back to the top of the Liga MX table in the process.

Statistically, Toluca dominated the match, maintaining possession well and getting the better of the opportunities to score. Xolos goalkeeper Federico Vilar looked sharp, making seven saves on the afternoon.

Tijuana was however able to seize on an opportunity in the 72nd minute though when Milton Caraglio made a good run down the left and passed it over to Gabriel Hauche, who beat Tala to give Xolos the lead.

Toluca kept pressing, however Vilar stood on his head to preserve the clean sheet. In the 85th minute he made two close range kick saves to keep Tijuana in the lead. Not to be out done, in the 87th minute Tala got chipped, but managed to run back and slap the ball away from the goal before it crossed the line.

Xolos are now three points up on Pachuca with just two matches left. They host Tigres on Friday and end the season at Estadio Pirata Fuente against Veracruz.
