Tijuana has a golden opportunity to clinch a spot in the Liguilla with a win against the worst team in all of Liga MX. While Xolos lost their last match, it was also their first loss in ten league matches, and was in Estadio Azteca against Club América on the celebration of their Centenario. Tijuana heads back to the friendlier confines of Estadio Caliente, where they haven’t lost all season and have only conceded one goal. Dayro Moreno still leads all of Liga MX in goals with nine on the season - to put this in perspective, Chiapas has only scored seven as a team so far.
To put it bluntly, Jaguares is not very good. They’re in 18th in Liga MX with their lone win in league play coming against Toluca back on July 31. A team who could find themselves in the thick of a relegation battle with Veracruz and Monarcas Morelia, Chiapas has a tall task ahead of them. For a team that can’t score, flying across almost the entire country and trying to get a goal seems like an impossible mission.
Stranger things have happened though, and this is not a team that Tijuana should take lightly. That being said, with the offensive firepower that Xolos possesses we could be seeing quite a few goals scored tonight.
