Chivas Guadalajara vs. Monarcas Morelia: Highlights

Alan Pulido and Isaac Brizuela gave Chivas a 2-1 victory over Monaracas Morelia on Saturday night.

The visitors were rocked early by a barrage of Chivas attacks right at the start of the game.

But it took a 36th minute penalty from Alan Pulido for the Rebaño Sagrado to take the lead.

Chivas continued to look dangerous in the second half, and it wasn’t long before Matias Almeyda’s side doubled their lead. Isaac Brizuela appeared at the edge of the box before firing a right-footed rocket past Carlos Felipe Rodriguez.

There was little flowing play from Monarcas Morelia throughput the 90 minutes, but as the home supporters were celebrating the prospect of an easy three points, second half substitute Rodolfo Vilchis appeared with a shot from outside the box to pull Morelia within one.

Morelia began to put Chivas under pressure, but Carlos Adrian Morales’ final shot went just inches wide of Rodolfo Cota’s goal as the hosts held on for all three points.

Chivas next will take the field in two weeks when they visit Puble at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc. Meanwhile, Monarcas Morelia will look to bounce back against Cruz Azul.
