Watch: Vela scores his first goal of the year as Real Sociedad are thrashed 5-1

With Mexican teammate Diego Reyes watching from the bench, Carlos Vela scored his first goal of 2016 in Real Sociedad's 5-1 thrashing against Sporting Gijon.

The Mexican international notched La Real's only goal of the match when he fired home on 37 minutes from a failed clearance.

Working on the right side of the midfield, Vela also completed 84% of his passes and 5 successful dribbles.
