Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez stayed red-hot but couldn't stop Bayer Leverkusen from being eliminated from the Champions League. The Bundesliga side crashed out of the competition thanks to a 1-1 draw against Barcelona on Wednesday night.
Chicharito was responsible for netting the equalizer three minutes after Lionel Messi put the Catalan giants in front. The Mexican international slotted home from a deflected cross to score his sixth Champions League goal of the campaign.
For Chicharito, the goal also was his 12th in his last 11 games for Leverkusen and his 14th since joining the club over the summer.
Despite the draw, Bayer Leverkusen had to content with playing Europa League football next year, as they fell to third in their group below Barcelona and Roma.
