Chicharito named Bundesliga Player of the Month for second month in a row

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez was named Bundesliga Player of the Month for the second month in a row. The Mexican international scored five times in three games to earn the award for the month of December.

Chicharito's performances were highlighted by his hat-trick against Borussia Monchengladbach in Bayer Leverkusen's 5-0 win on December 12.

The hat-trick was Chicharito's first in his club career since making his debut with Chivas Guadalajara in 2006.

In total, Chicharito has scored 11 of Bayer Leverkusen's 25 league goals this season as the Werkself finished the year 5th in the league table.

Bayer Leverkusen will resume league play against Hoffenheim on January 23.
