Chivas Guadalajara Vs. Pumas UNAM, 2011 Apertura: Lineups And Live Match Thread

The featured match of Round 4 in Mexico is also probably the biggest match so far this season. Chivas Guadalajara and Pumas UNAM both come into Saturday night's game undefeated, and both carry legitimate claims as leading title contenders for the Apertura 2011 crown. The two sides also feature talented young rosters built from arguably the two best youth systems in Mexico. Each team is also looking to build on the momentum of their respective midweek victories. On Wednesday night a stoppage time goal from Eduardo Herrera gave Pumas an important 2-1 win over Monterrey. On the same night in the United States it was the Marco Fabian show, as Chivas earned an eyebrow-raising 4-1 win over Barcelona behind two goals from the talented attacking midfielder.

Now back at Estadio Omnilife for Saturday night's showdown, Chivas have history on their side. It has now been almost three decades since Pumas defeated the Rojiblancos in Guadalajara.

Chivas will make a few slight changes to their lineup. An injury to Xavi Baez will give Jesus Sanches the start, while Hector Reynoso returns to the backline for his first league match of the season. As always, join us for live commentary and discussion in the comments section below. Here are your starting lineups:

Chivas lineup: Luis Michel; Miguel Ponce, Jonny Magallon, Hector Reynoso, Omar Esparza; Edgar Mejia, Patricio Araujo, Jesus Sanchez, Marco Fabian; Alberto Medina, Omar Arellano.

Pumas lineup: Alejandro Palacios; Efrain Velarde, Dario Veron, Marco Palacios, Luis Fuentes; David Cabrera, Paco Palencia, Fernando Espinosa, Javier Cortes; Eduardo Herrera, Martin Bravo.

The match kicks off at 8pm eastern (7pm local time in Guadalajara), with television coverage in the United States on Telemundo.
