Estudiantes Tecos and Toluca open the Apertura 2011 with both looking to start on the right foot following disappointments in the 2011 Clausura.
Toluca finds itself at the start a rejuvenation process after José Manuel de la Torre left to take the reins of the national team. Uruguayan Héctor Hugo Eugui is the new boss and says his team will be going out at the 3 de Marzo stadium looking to win. However, there has been little activity in the transfer market from one of the dominant forces in Mexico over the last 15 years.
On the opposite bench, José Luis Sánchez Sola, aka "Chelís," is making no bones about what needs to happen at Tecos.
"The only way is la chinga," said Chelís, referring to the amount serious hard work the team needs to do to move away from the relegation zone.
There have been 14 goals in the last two games between these two teams, so expect scoring. Tecos have experimented with one lone striker this preseason but we´ll only know whether that is the way they will line up when the teams are announced. New signings Hérculez Gómez, "el Pony" Ruíz, Dulio Davino and Braulio Luna are all likely to start.
