Much to the delight of the home crowd, the hosts of the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Mexico, have advanced to the final to play Uruguay, who defeated Brazil 3-0 in their semifinal. Mexico advanced to the final with a 3-2 win over Germany, culminating in a stunning bicycle kick winner from Julio Gomez. He's one of the attacking players making a serious name for himself in this tournament, along with Chivas duo Giovanni Casillas and Carlos Fierro.
Uruguay should provide a stiff test for El Tri's sub-17 side, though, as they have also been impressive en route to the final. It's harder to pick out a definite star or two for Uruguay, as they've been defined much more by the team than any individuals, but forward Juan Cruz Mascia is probably their biggest talent. He's drawn comparisons to Diego Forlan, and despite scoring just one goal so far in this tournament, his goal scoring record is impeccable and he will be one for Mexico to watch.
