Tri's Gold Cup vs Copa America

Where will el TRI benefit most, from uncovering talent, tournament trophies or some combination?

I think that the Copa America experiment makes the Gold Cup pale in comparison. There is a lot of talent coming out of Mexico's youth system beyond just Dos Santos, Vela, and H. Moreno. It will be exciting to watch who stands out and helps Mexico compete against South America's best. Though many will already be watching Jona Dos Santos, there are other young talents that deserve at least as much attention, such as Chivas heroes Erik Cubo Torres and Marco Fabian de la Mora. There will also be many eyes on Atlas standout Edgar Pacheco after his stellar performance on his first time demonstrating his skills for El Tri, but Javier Cortez of Pumas could steal some of that thunder. Nestor Calderon, David Cabrera, and Ulises Davila could also surprise observers at the tournament, let alone their opponents.

If new talent is revealed for the continued strengthening of El TRI ahead of the next world cup and for the ongoing strengthening of the FMF and its reputation, then there is no doubt that the long run benefits of even a partial victory at Copa America could outweigh any expected positive results from a fully loaded Copa America squad, even with a gold cup victory.
