For El Tri fans, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that the under-22 side that faced Colombia in a Copa America warm-up last night didn't look great going forward. The good news is that they totally contained a first choice Colombia team who played Radamel Falcao.
Mexico's Copa America squad fought Colombia's first team to a 0-0 draw last night, which could be called an encouraging result going into the Copa America. Falcao was well contained aside from one good shot, which was saved by Luis Michel. Rafael Marquez Lugo and substitute Jorge Hernandez were solid, while young stars Marco Fabian and Javier Cortes, who will be the attackers Mexico leans on most in Copa America, were slightly disappointing. Here are the lineups that each team used last night, subs in parenthesis.
Colombia lineup: Ospina; Zapata, Yepes, Armero, Zuniga, Sanchez (Cuadrado), Aguilar, Guarin (Bolivar), Soto (Moreno), Falcao (Martinez).
Mexico lineup: Michel, Vidrio, Araujo, Jimenez, Chavez, Cabrera (Hernandez), Reyes, Enriquez, Fabian (Peralta), Cortes (Aquino), Marquez Lugo (Calderon).
