Puebla Signs United States International Winger DaMarcus Beasley

After a stint with Glasgow Rangers that had mixed success and a stint with Hannover 96 where he had almost no success, United States international left winger DaMarcus Beasley has signed on with Puebla, becoming their 15th new signing of the offseason. Puebla had a disappointing year in both the Apertura and Clausura last season, and as a result, they're in the midst of a complete re-building.

At the top of his game, there's no question that Beasley would start and be incredibly effective in the Mexican Primera. However, it has been a very long time since Beasley looked like a great player at a high level, so there's no telling whether or not he's going to make much of an impact for Puebla.

Beasley trialed with Pachuca and was not signed, which isn't a great sign. It's possible that Pachuca made a mistake or that a player not good enough for the Tuzos can make an impact for Puebla, but that incident is enough for me to say he won't be an automatic starter. We're just going to have to take a wait and see approach when it comes to evaluating Beasley's prospects for playing time.
