Mexico have put out a lineup with zero surprises, probably because they have precisely zero players to surprise you with. 'Chicharito' Javier Hernandez starts up top, Giovani dos Santos starts behind him...you know the drill. They haven't called in any replacement players for their suspended players, despite being allowed to do so, and once again have six players on the bench for this Gold Cup quarterfinal matchup against Guatemala. They also have no surprises in their lineup, with the likes of Carlos Ruiz and Marco Pappa making the start.
Mexico lineup: Talavera; Salcido, Marquez, Moreno, Juarez; Castro, Torrado; Guardado, dos Santos, Barrera; Hernandez
Guatemala lineup: Jerez; Cabrera, Gallardo, Noriega, Vasquez, Velazquez, Pappa, Lopez, Del Aguila, Ruiz, Arreola
At the time of this posting, incredibly, Mexico does not yet know their semifinal opponent. Costa Rica and Honduras have gone to extra time, and their game has been fantastic. El Tri are extremely heavy favorites tonight, and anything less than a multiple-goal win will be seen as a disappointment. The game can be seen in the USA on Univision at 8 pm ET, and it's being played in front of a sold-out crowd at New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.
