It's not every day that Pachuca is the team in the Mexican Primera that dominates the headlines, but they're all over the news for a few reasons today. First of all, let's update you on the rumored swap we heard about yesterday. That deal has turned out to be two-thirds true, with the pieces we, personally saw as the "major pieces" staying intact. Striker Herculez Gomez will move to Estudiantes Tecos, while attacking midfielder Mauro Cejas will go the other way and join Pachuca. The other player involved in the deal is not Juan Carlos Rojas, but Braulio Luna. In any event, it's an even swap for both teams.

In other news, American international DaMarcus Beasley is reportedly in Mexico, observing training with Pachuca. Beasley is currently under contract with Hannover 96, but he hasn't made the 18 man squad in months. If someone had an interest in signing Beasley, they would probably be willing to release him. There's no word on whether or not he's actually working out for Pachuca, but it's worth keeping an eye on.
