Sometimes rumors make so much sense, we want to report them even if we don't have a legitimate source. There's not yet a print source on this, but according to tweets from an official supporters group of Pachuca and Mexican football journalist Jose Maria Garrido, Herculez Gomes and Mauro Cejas are set for a swap. According to the twitter gossip, American international striker Gomez is set to move to Estudiantes Tecos, while Argentine attacking midfielder Cejas is going the other way to the Tuzos. Here's the tweet from iTuzos, a Pachuca supporters group.

This information was also corroborated by Garrido on twitter. As the tweet mentions, Juan Carlos Rojas will also be headed to Tecos in this deal. On every level, this deal makes sense. Pachuca need quality, while Tecos need depth. In the deal, Pachuca get the best player and a much needed attacking midfielder in Cejas, while Tecos get two starting quality players in Gomez and holding midfielder Rojas. Everybody wins.

The deal would also re-unite Gomez with Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, better known as "Chelis," the manager who coached Gomez during his magical run with Puebla that got him a call-up to the World Cup squad. Chelis did well during the Clausura 2011 to guide Tecos, favorites for last place, to fourth from bottom and well clear of relegation. Despite their new players and new manager, Tecos still have a fight on their hands going into next year, as they are within one tenth of a point of the drop on the coefficient standings.
