All members of the Mexico national team have now arrived in San Diego to begin training ahead of the team's two upcoming friendlies. Manager Jose Manuel de la Torre's roster features 23 players, made up of nine players based in Europe, one from MLS, and thirteen from the Mexican Primera Division.
The squad is training this week at the San Diego Jewish Academy, before flying to Oakland on Friday morning. On Saturday the team will play their first match at Oakland Coliseum against Paraguay, before heading back to San Diego for a Tuesday match against Venezuela at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Mexico roster features some intriguing battles for starting positions ahead of this summer's Gold Cup. Look no further than goalkeeper, for one, where Guillermo Ochoa (making his first appearance under De la Torre this week), will be looking to reclaim his starting spot.
Stay tuned to FMF State of Mind this week, as we take a complete look at the Mexican team heading into Saturday's match.
