Ahead of El Clasico Tapatio, Chivas Guadalajara striker Omar Arellano has sustained an injury. He left the pitch on a stretcher this afternoon, but his status for the weekend derby match against Club Atlas is still unknown. Arellano has been in very poor form for a large amount of time, but he's still a very talented striker that Chivas would like to have as a bench option, at the very least. As Tom Marshall noted in his preview of the Clasico Tapatio, Arellano was likely to be kept on the bench in favor of the Goats' young, budding stars at the striker position.

Apparently, the author of the above cited article disagreed with Tom, stating that Arellano was likely in Chivas head coach Jose Luis Real's starting XI for the game. I'm inclined to agree with Tom, but if Arellano was indeed supposed to start the match, it's a massive loss for Chivas. They're a team that has seriously struggled to replace the goals of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, so even though Arellano is struggling, Chivas can hardly afford to have any strikers go down.

Could we finally see some opportunities for Bofo Bautista to end his scoreless streak? Okay, not likely. But you never know.
