Mexico Announces Roster For Brazil Friendly

Photo

It's just a friendly, but on Tuesday night in Torreon, Jose "Chepo" Manuel de la Torre may get his biggest test yet as Mexico manager. Will this be Chepo's first loss as coach of El Tri? We'll find out in a few days. What we do know is the list of players that will be at Chepo's disposal.

Tuesday's match will take place at Estadio Corona in Torreon, home ground of Santos Laguna. The local fans have been rewarded with two Santos players on the roster -- striker Oribe Peralta and the return to the national team of veteran keeper Oswaldo Sanchez. Another new call-up of note is Jaguares midfielder Edgar Andrade, who puts on the Mexico jersey for the first time under De la Torre.

What do you think about Chepo's roster? Any players missing that you were hoping to see? Can this group take down Brazil?

See Mexico's full roster listing after the break.

still don't understand

Sinha, Torrado, and Castro. Unless he planning to take em to Brazil he needs to look for new players in those positions. As for Oswaldo, just a game like to say “goodbye” to the fans, and what better than in Torreon

Sinha may keep getting call-ups until he's 58 years old.

Agree about Oswaldo, I dont know why anyone has a problem with it. Just a nice tribute in front of the Santos fans. And Jesus Corona will be playing with the U-22 Panamerican squad.

I think...

…maybe the coaches should give Marvin PiƱon a chance. It’s an old topic, but he’s a born midfielder.

I agree that it’s a nice tribute to Oswaldo Sanchez but anyone watching Santos knows he has been playing marvelously. He deserves it. I can’t see Molina there – IMHO he has been one of the reasons America has been stinking it up as much as they have been. I hate the guy!

I haven’t watched America much this season (don’t imagine I’m missing much) but I’ve been surprised that Reyna hasn’t been used more on the MNT. Am I wrong to think he deserves more of a shot? Right now he seems to be buried behind Chucho.

Reyna had an awesome season last year but he’s never bounced back from an early season injury. There are flashes of his old self but he just seems off.
